Description and working principle
The TU Tubular Screw Conveyor and Feeder range by WAM® is a highly versatile modular system that offers plenty of standard material handling solutions.
Depending on the characteristics of the material to be handled, different types of intermediate hanger bearing assemblies, a variety of shaft seals, direct drive assemblies with or without coupling, or offset belt and chain transmission drives are supplied. According to the application, various screw designs, as well as inlet and outlet spout variations are available.
A vast range of fabricated and mechanical accessories complete the range.
Performance and technical features
- Tubular casing in standardized flanged sections with one section made to measure
- Cylindrical, tapered, ball jointed, square or rectangular inlets and outlets with drilled flange, beaded edge or plain according to WAM® standards
- Standard inspection hatch beneath first inlet and each intermediate hanger bearing
- Medium-heavy-duty screw with splined shaft couplings
- Maintenance-free aluminium-cast intermediate hanger bearings with self-lubricating or lubricated slide bushes
- Space-saving maintenance-free outlet end bearing assembly with turning tool shaft connection
- Direct or offset mounted single or multiple stage WAM® gear reduction unit (direct coupled, via semi-elastic coupling, chain transmission or belt transmission) with incorporated, fully protected, maintenance-free end bearing assembly and self-adjusting packed gland seal
- Standard flange-mounted electric motor
- Drive units mounted at inlet or outlet end
